How are you all doing? It’s exciting that we can go out a little more and see more people now, isn’t it? I have been to the zoo with my friends and football training has started again. Have you been out and about recently?
Seeing my friends and playing football isn’t the only thing I have been up to though. Do you remember how last month I helped Mum with the spring cleaning? Well since then I have been having even more of a tidy up.
Decluttering my bedroom
My bedroom kept getting messy quite quickly. I realised it was because I had too many toys and too many clothes to keep my room neat and tidy. I needed to have a good clear out so everything would have a home and my room would stay tidy.
I decided to collect up all of the clothes that don’t really fit me anymore and the toys I no longer play with. By the end of the day I had a big pile of old things, but I didn’t know what to do with them!
If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am enthusiastic about looking after the planet, so I didn’t want to just throw them away. My old clothes and toys were all in good condition so that would have been a waste.
I asked Mum what I should do and she suggested that I set up a shop at the end of the driveway and try to sell some of them. I thought that was a great idea! I’m giving my toys and clothes a new home and raising some money at the same time.
During the week I popped some posters up around the village to let my neighbours know I would be opening a driveway shop for the day. Then, at the weekend, I set up a table at the end of the driveway and laid out as many of my things as possible. I had made a sign for the table and stuck price tags on as many things as possible.
I was very pleased with my driveway shop, lots of my neighbours came out to visit my shop and a car even stopped on their way through.
I made quite a few sales. For example, Mr Tedward bought some t-shirts for his grandson, Mrs Grizzle bought a pair of football boots for her daughter and Tom and Billy bought some cars to add to their collection.
In total, I earned £12.60! I am going to put the money I made from my little shop into my budgeting jars.
I will take everything that didn’t sell to the charity shop so they can make some money too!
See you again soon!
