It’s hard to miss the fact that more people are becoming conscious about their impact on the planet. Conversations around social and environmental issues are becoming increasingly prominent in the press, on social media and around the dinner table.
With an increase in the concern about the state of the world, we have seen a rise in clients asking for ethical investment portfolios.
In response, we are pleased to announce that we have put together our own ‘sustainable’ portfolio funds which are now available.
What Is Ethical Investing?
We’ve written a couple of times before about ethical investing, so we won’t reinvent the wheel here. Instead, why not take a look at these earlier articles:
What is Ethical Investment? (from May 2017)
Ethical Investing: An Update (from January 2020)
However, if you’d like to hear the latest on ethical investing, Ralph and Emma are holding a free webinar on 16th September to answer all your questions – see more details below.
About Our Sustainable Portfolios
The concept behind our portfolios is you opt-in for positive choices. These choices could be investing in companies with good environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) policies, for example. This is instead of opting out of negative criteria which could include saying no to investments in armaments, for example.
Ethical Investing – it’s your choice
Ethical investment is a personal decision. You may want to make sure the funds you are investing in match your personal set of beliefs. Alternatively, you could just be looking to choose a portfolio which is generally socially responsible, which is what we have tried to create with the positive choice criteria mentioned above. It is also important to make sure that the portfolio balances other important factors such as risk and return, something that we have already considered when putting our sustainable portfolios together.
